Jordan Eagles (b. 1977) is a New York–based artist who has explored the aesthetics and ethics of blood as an artistic medium since the late 1990s. Working across installation, sculpture, photography, and painting, Eagles uses blood to probe embodiment, spirituality, and social norms. His work interrogates how metaphors and material practices shape identity formation, desire, and stigma. Eagles's collections are held at the Addison Gallery of American Art, Everson Museum of Art, Peabody Essex Museum, Princeton University Art Museum, University of Michigan Museum of Art, and Wellcome Collection. He has exhibited at the Getty, High Museum of Art, The Andy Warhol Museum, The High Line, and Hammer Museum. Eagles has collaborated with NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and is co-founder of Blood Equality, a public health initiative.
